Our Strategy
Shaping the future of our county
Staffordshire County Council has approved a new Strategic Direction for 2026-2028, setting out our priorities for the next two years and the foundations for long-term success.
This plan marks an important moment for Staffordshire – a chance to build on our strengths, tackle the challenges we face, and deliver improvements that matter to local people.
Our five priorities for Staffordshire
Our plan is built around five priorities that reflect what matters most to residents, communities and the local economy:
- People – Supporting children, families, older people and vulnerable adults to live healthy, safe and independent lives.
- Economy – Creating the conditions for local businesses to thrive and helping people develop the skills they need for good jobs.
- Connectivity – Improving our roads, transport links and digital infrastructure so people and businesses can stay connected.
- Communities – Building strong, safe, resilient and welcoming communities where people feel proud to live and can shape local decisions.
- Efficiency and value for money – Making every pound count, delivering services responsibly, and planning for the long term.
How we work
- Encourage our communities to help themselves and each other
- Lead our workforce to be ambitious, courageous and empowered
